Food and travel, part 1

I know I posted about food in my travels a while back, and I figured that I would revisit that subject. I think the most unique thing I ever had was whale in Iceland. Some people might think that it’s inhumane and cruel, however, the whale meat we had was minke whale, which was the most common type of whale; we were told explicitly that this type of whale needed to be controlled, as there are too many of them, so we were helping the population control. The taste was unique-it was a lot like steak with a little tangy flavor. We also had this unique shrimp soup that served as an amazing complement to the whale meat, making that lunch very enjoyable and relatively cheap too. You’ve got to love eating in a restaurant that gets the fresh catch!
