So, I’ve apparently been sitting on this post for over a year, but the information is still relevant. Anyways, for the longest time, I’d wanted to see owls. Not online mind you, but in person. For whatever reason, I’d stumbled across an anti-cafe, via Instagram, in the north of Moscow whose schtick was being host to owls. So, my friend and I swung by back last May, as we both wanted to experience these majestic creatures up close and personal. The basement houses the owls, and when you walk down, you’re greeted by some cheerful experts who are more than happy to explain the types of owls to you. Arguably the main attraction was the Snowy Owl, also known as the type that the beloved fictional owl Hedwig was. We’d even got to pet all of them, and it was an experience! Despite them looking a bit angry it was a good time, especially with the requisite Harry Potter tie ins that came after our mini tour. We didn’t spend much time after we met the owls, but we hung around a bit to take a wizarding quiz in addition to enjoying the free snacks there. All in all, it’s a fun little place to enjoy the joy that owls bring!
Their Instagram is instagram.com/owfldom. The address is Prospekt Mira 79k2, which is about a 15 minute walk from Prospekt Mira metro station.
